Six courses in a new wilderness management correspondence course 
series are or soon will be open to enrollment.  The courses were 
developed at Colorado State University (CSU) in cooperation with 
the NPS, and students who complete each course can earn CSU 
academic credits or CEU's.  The cost is $330 and is to be paid 
by benefitting account.  For further information, refer to an

THIS DAY IN NPS SAR HISTORY...

May 20, 1951 - Employees at Sequoia received the first unit 
citation for meritorious service given to the NPS for a rescue 
effort after rescuing an injured fisherman from the South Fork 
of the Kaweah River.  Named in the citation were Jeff Adams, 
Jack Anderson, Bob Branges, Dick Boyer, Bruce Black, Joe Davis, 
"Corky" Johnson, John Rutter, Hank Schmidt, Lee Stiltz, Ted 
Thompson and Charley Wallace. [Butch Farabee, PAIS]
