RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

1) The sixth Natural Resources Management Trainee Program (NRMTP) course
will begin on March 16, 1992. Each region may select up to two trainees
and WASO and DSC may each select one. If any region, WASO or DSC office
has a vacant natural resources position (or positions), they may select
NRMTP trainee(s) by issuing a vacancy announcement, then advertising the
position Servicewide. If they have no vacant natural resources positions,
they may select trainee(s) by advertising a competitive training
opportunity for incumbent personnel within their respective offices.
Employee development, natural resources and personnel offices in the
regions, WASO and DSC are now making final decisions about which method to
use. Announcements will appear soon; interested persons should talk to one
of the above offices for information on specific slots. [Bill Walker,
NRMTP Coordinator, WASO, FTS 523-5280 or 202-523-5280]
