Maggie L. Walker NHS - High school student Sydney Shavers' quest to follow her ancestor's story was the featured program at the Maggie L. Walker National Historic Site on Martin Luther King Day.


Big Cypress NP - On January 19th, Big Cypress, Everglades and the South Florida National Parks Trust partnered to create a new activity called the Tamiami Trail "Triathlon." It encourages individuals and families to get out of their cars and explore areas within easy access of the trail.

Office of International Affairs - Lake Manyara National Park, which is located in the great Rift Valley in the northern part of Tanzania, has asked the NPS Office of International Affairs to find it a sister park.


Contracting Office - Lorna Gunning, acting bureau procurement chief, is leaving the NPS after 29 years. She is taking a position as the chief of contracting at the BLM National Operations Center in Lakewood, Colorado.


El Morro NM - After nearly 23 years of challenging and rewarding adventures, Fred Moosman, a supervisory protection specialist at El Morro, will be hanging up his flat hat and retiring from the National Park Service on January 31st.
