Grand Canyon NP

Woman's Body Found In Canyon

Park dispatch received a satellite phone call last Thursday afternoon from a private river trip reporting the discovery of a woman's body near Tuckup Canyon. Due to pending darkness, rangers were unable to fly to the scene until the following morning. The body was then flown to the rim and turned over to the county medical examiner. The woman's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The park and medical examiner's office are conducting a joint investigation into the death.
