Office of Communications - In recognition of outgoing Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar's tenure as secretary, during which time he was a champion of national parks and the National Park Service, Director Jarvis last Wednesday recognized him as an honorary park ranger. 


Fire and Aviation Management - The Federal Fire Council has issued a document entitled "2013 Direction to Wildland Fire Leadership." The text of the transmittal memo and a link to the related documents are provided.


Office of Communications - As part of its mission to tell the full story of America's history, the Service has released a document entitled "American Latinos and the Making of the United States: A Theme Study." It focuses on the contributions of Latinos to our national heritage and culture.


Grand Canyon NP - In keeping with the “Call to Action” goal entitled “A Class Act,” the park's environmental education team has adopted the Grand Canyon School's class of 2016.


Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs - This week's update on past and upcoming hearings, newly introduced bills, and the status of legislation of interest to the National Park Service. This report covers the week ending on Friday, April 5th.
