Redwood N&SP - Redwood National and State Parks and Parque Nacional Alerce Costero in Chile launched a “sister park” partnership last year that is continuing to grow and develop into an interactive long-term relationship.


Interpretation and Education Division - The 2013 regional Freeman Tilden Awards have been presented to six innovative National Park Service employees. The annual awards recognize outstanding contributions to the practice of interpretation and education.  


Office of Communications - A striking photograph of an American lotus at dawn on the Great Plains is the top winner in the 2013 National Natural Landmarks Program photo contest. 


Thomas Stone NHS - During the final week of September, Thomas Stone National Historic Site was one of the venues for the 43rd annual United States Police Canine Association Field Trials. 


Natchez Trace Parkway - Mary Risser, a 32-year career employee of the National Park Service, has been selected as the new superintendent of Natchez Trace Parkway.


NPS Alumni - James Godbolt, a career ranger and park manager in the National Park Service for 37 years, passed away in mid-October, just four days before his 91st birthday.


Servicewide Training Calendar - A compilation of upcoming training courses, webinars and online training offered by the National Park Service and related agencies. The following have been added to this week's calendar - an announcement for the next facility manager leaders program course of study and two offerings from NCPTT.
