Office of Communications - This weekend, the Service will commemorate Veterans Day with many special programs and all visitors will enjoy free access to their national parks. Information is provided on those programs and on the battlefields, military parks, and historic sites within the NPS that commemorate and honor the service of American veterans.


Office of Communications - Ranger Jane Farmer from Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi is the 2013 recipient of the National Park Service's Freeman Tilden Award for interpretive excellence.


Park Facility Management Division - The Park Facility Management Division is seeking sustainable building stories and photographs for the upcoming winter edition of Sustainability News. Details are provided on how to make submissions.


Natural Resource Stewardship and Science - The call for natural resource FY 2014 technical assistance requests has been issued. Park completion and ranking of requests are due in STAR no later than December 2nd.


Bandelier NM - On October 23rd, Freda Mantei came to the park and stamped her NPS Passport, bringing the total number of stamps she's collected to 357 - including all the areas in the Lower 48 states.


Servicewide Training Calendar - A compilation of upcoming training courses, webinars and online training offered by the National Park Service and related agencies. The following have been added to this week's calendar - a national commemorations webinar next Thursday and two new FLETC offerings.
