Great Basin NP - A 132-year-old Winchester rifle, exposed for all those years to sun, wind, snow and rain, was recently found leaning against a juniper tree on a remote rocky outcrop in the park, its faded colors blending it in with the tree.
Land Resources Division - A 61-acre tract of land on the Kempton Channel near Rainy Lake in Voyageurs National Park was recently acquired by the Midwest Region Land Resources Program Center.
Cuyahoga Valley NP - On Saturday, December 13th, park staff again participated in the local Fraternal Order of Police "Shop with a Cop" program.
Office of Legislative and Congressional Affairs - This week's update on past and upcoming hearings, newly introduced bills, and the status of legislation of interest to the Service. This report covers activities in Congress through January 9th.
Intermountain Region - Bonnie Houston, architectural historian and List of Classified Structures coordinator for Intermountain Regional Office's Cultural Resource Program, retired on December 31st.
Harpers Ferry Center - PJ Lewis, project manager for Harpers Ferry Center's Southeast Region media development group, retired on January 3rd. His federal government career totaled 35 years, with 33 years in the NPS.
