Jean Lafitte NHP&P - A record numbers of people - nearly 12,000 - visited Chalmette Battlefield last week to commemorate the bicentennial of the Battle of New Orleans, the final major conflict of the War of 1812.


Office of Communications - Director Jarvis will host his next monthly webchat on Wednesday, January 21st, at 3:30 p.m. EST. He will talk about the year ahead and preparations for the NPS centennial.


Lake Mead NRA - Lake Mead National Recreation Area employees recognized National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9th by raising a flag with a thin blue line beneath the American flag.


Northeast Region - Robbie Smith, a ranger at Colonial National Historical Park, graduated in November from the U.S. Joint Forces Staff College at Naval Station Norfolk.
