We knew this spot when brightened
by the living hues of summer.
Then fall arrived with brilliant
reds and gold.
We thought that spring, with new-born
verdant splendor,
Left nothing more for Nature to unfold.
Yet now, when winter's breath enshrouds
our hills in ice and snow,
and all about is stilled in tranquil
sleep
We find, again, rare beauty that we did
not know
A traveler on these trails could
ever meet!
