My eyes are hungry for remembered scenes,
For dazzeling sunsets and for flashing dawns.
My heart returns to a far land in dreams,
And I am weary of these narrow lawns.
Give me again "The Mountain's" snowy crest
Rearing above the green of fir clad hills.
Once more to be near it, feel the zest
Of living, as my sad heart fills
With joy to think that I will soon be there
Far from the smoke and din of city strife.
And days will be more happy, nights more fair
To thrill the soul with perfect love of life.
