Weasel

1. One of the most active, vicious and bloodthirsty of animals, often killing for sport.

2. Young are born in litters of 4, 6 and, sometimes, 8.

3. Serpentine body and short legs enable it to enter small burrows to pursue its victims. It also climbs trees in search of its prey.

4. The weasel has remarkable powers of sight, hearing and smell.

5. Eats the flesh of its victims and also sucks the warm blood from the throat or from the base of the skull.

6. Possesses glands similar to the skunk, secreting a fluid with a powerful penetrating odor.

7. Its enemies must be few - probably such animals as the martin, bobcat, fox and the larger of the predatory birds such as the Great Horned Owl.
