LONGMIRE, WASHINGTON. SEPTEMBER 15, 1928: On Monday, September 17th, the road will be closed between Glacier Bridge and Paradise Valley in Mount Rainier National Park to enable the contractor to complete construction work before winter snows set in. Those desiring to visit Paradise Valley may leave their cars at the Glacier Bridge and make the mile and half hike over the Glacier Trail. Effort will be made to open the road on weekends, depending on construction conditions, but all motorists should obtain information before starting for the Park. Latest road information may be obtained at the Automobile Clubs and offices of the Rainier National Park Company in Seattle, Tacoma, and Portland. The road between Longmire and Glacier Bridge will be open until closed by winter snows. The road to Longmire Springs will be open throughout the winter. The Carbon River and White River roads will also be open as long as weather conditions permit. O. A. Tomlinson, |
