Description of Areas

The following pages contain brief descriptions, together with other important information, of the 74 areas identified in the survey. Also, all of the descriptions have adjoining photographs. The areas are arranged by States, and portions of States, according to their geographic locations from Canada to Mexico. Following each section is a tip-in vicinity map which should be unfolded for reference before turning to any particular portion of the coast.

Special and more detailed studies were made of the seven most important areas identified along the coast.
