Upper Elwha—2 km beyond Chicago Camp; Described as "a cavelike recess beneath an overhanging rock wall (that) has provided hikers with emergency shelter on more than one occasion (Wood 1984:44.)."

Upper Elwha; "...to the west, away from the trail, the spelunker can find a cave to explore (Wood 1984:63)."

Royal Basin of the Upper Elwha; located at the edge of a meadow where a "huge chunk of pillow lava overhangs on the west side. The campsite beneath it can accomodate a number of people, and during storms hikers sometimes take refuge here (Wood 1984:111)."

On Dosewallips Trail 0.9 km beyond Dose Forks; described as a mineral lick that attracts deer and other animals (Wood 1984:135).

Hamma Hamma Basin on Jefferson Ridge Trail; described as a hiking hazard—"a deep cave or hole right beside the trail, where one can look straight down (Wood 1984: 170)."

Lower Elwha Basin; according to Robert Wood (personal communication), there is a cave in this vicinity that was described to him by Galen Hunt.
