OREGON'S HIGHWAY PARK SYSTEM: 1921-1989 An Administrative History

Since the Oregon Parks agency was first organized as a unit of state government in the 1920s, several thousand individuals have come to its employ as office staff, managers and coordinators, planners and designers, engineers, surveyors, technicians, rangers and maintenance crew. Regrettably, the limitations of time and space make it impossible to name all who have contributed to and supported the State Parks program over so many years. Although the employees, volunteers and friends go unnamed here for the most part, it is to them, each and every one, that this administrative history is dedicated.
