Six Rivers National Forest employees pose at the
kick-off festivities celebrating the forest's fiftieth anniversary.
Compare this December 1996 photo with the 1958 employee photo: not only
has there been radical change in the number of employees, but also in
the diversity of the jobs and the gender balance. Only about half the
total number of people employed on the Six Rivers are shown in this
photo; at the end of calendar year 1996, the Six Rivers roster totaled
