| Description: | Blasted out. Asan Point, Asan beachhead at left and center distance. Marines landing on Guam were confronted with enemy fire coming from a half mile long series of caves and dugouts. Dynamite charges were the only effective means of silencing the enemy. Here a huge column of smoke and dirt mark one section of dugouts being put out of action, just off the beach. July 24, 1944.
