Trustees of Public Reservations to acquire and hold in public interest
land on Mount Desert Island. |
1908 | First gift of land to trustees;
donated by Mrs. Eliza Homans of Boston. |
1914 | 5,000 acres of land on island tendered
to Government as a national park by Hancock County Trustees. |
1916 | Tract accepted by Government;
