SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK
Ash Mountain Entrance Sign (1936)
![](../images/seki01.jpg)
Located at the Ash Mountain entrance to the park, the sign was carved out of blocks of sequoia wood by Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) craftsmen. The post made of a single native timber log is embedded in a rock-faced concrete base. Metal brackets fasten the signboard, carved in the shape of a Native American face, to the post.2
